Wow, the weather forecast for yesterday was just awful,BUT, the old weatherman was just very wrong. at least here he was. It rained while the kids were fishing but then it cleared up and everything went very well. We had 24 teams registered which meant about 60 kids. What a great time. Summer seems to have arrived, I say this because it has been COLD and wet. Enough, enough, I have had enough. I want to be warm. I am Canadian, I love all the seasons but I especially like summer, mailnly because I like the heat. We had such a cold and wet summer last year that I need one twice as long this year just to feel warm. But, at least the black flies are mainly gone, thank goodness. Thank you to all of you who have wished us well on our 40th wedding anniversary.Our kids gave us a surprise party and invited friends and relatives, many of whom came from a long distance. How they got past me whith everything, I'll never know, but they did have help from everyone who works here. Then we have received cards and well wihes. I am not a great writer, I am better with the spoken word, but my goodness some of the wishes in the cards leave me speechless. ...
Well the phones are fixed, I don't know how maybe it was moisture, who knows. Today is our 40th anniversary and our kids gave up a party. They invited family and friends and surprised us thoroughly. What fun. I love them so much and I guess that love is returned, and they prove it when they do such wonderful things for us Bob and I are gone for a few days just to celebrate and to get a couple days off B

What a week, the storm on Saturday shut most of us down for a while, messed us up big time. My credit card machine was fried, so back to the old zip zip machine. Then I went to do e-mail as I usually do, no internet access. I tried everything, but it fried a line at the network switch. Thank goodness for power sources with battery back up and surge protection, because even with these I still fried 2 lines and the one machine. But I'm back in service. Isn't it funny...
Well the derby was a great success. The kids caught over 40 kilograms of Rock Bass, that’s a lot of fish when you consider the average size of a rock bass The Bar-B-Que raised over $200.00 for our Police Association office, very well done for the volunteers and to all who bought a Hamburg and a hotdog and drink. Fishing Derby Time!
It's time for our annual Kids & Family Rock Bass Derby, on Saturday, July 5th.
We've provided a registration form for your convenience, so just fill in the info and e-mail, fax or call it in to us. Then have fun, catch as many rock bass as possible, and bring them all in for the weigh - in at 1:00 p.m.
Come a few minutes sooner and enjoy the Bar-B- Que that the Police Association put on, all proceeds to to help fund the office at the Community Centre

The turtles are on the go, they are trying to find a place to lay their eggs. Yesterday, there was one just in front of the house so Bob picked her up and moved her to a sandy area. She was so mad that she went back into the lake. Today there were two of them here, both were laying their eggs when we saw them. Dwayne called his son Jake to ask him if he wanted tosee them. He was very enthusiastic about it so much so that when I got to his place, he was sitting in the driveway...

It's June and I love it, the weather is warm, the black flies are just about gone and most of you are back for another summer. welcome back. It's nice to see you all. The weatherman is calling for a long hot summer, so let's hope he is right for all our sakes
We are alredy making plans for the fishing derby in July. This year it is very early, July 5th so mark your calendars. The rock bass are getting scarcer but there are still lots out there. Remember the bar-b-que that's starts at noon. This is our fund raisers for the Police Association to help fund their office here at the Community Centre Complex.
Boats are selling fast, so if you are still looking for something new(or new to you) come in and check our our inventory. this year we took on Cutter by Grew again to provide us with boats for Outboard engines for those of you who prefer them over the I/O's
Bob is busy building docks again this year, so if yours is getting sad, give him a call or e-mail him
